Ok, I'm just wondering if anybody has ever experienced this before, as I'm getting a bit concerned that it could be a symptom of some underlying condition..
When I was a kid, when I would kneel down (completely, with my heels touching my butt, whether I was actually sitting or just on the balls of my feet), something would cramp behind my left knee, and I would be stuck with my leg in that position for sometimes hours. It got to the point where I avoided kneeling altogether. It didn't even hurt unless I tried to stretch my leg out. I would usually sit with my leg bent in front of me and slowly move my foot out as much as I could at a time, and after a while I would go to try to move and find that it had corrected itself and was completely fine. I 'd go on like nothing happened and had no discomfort or anything. Anyway, as I got older it happened less and less and I didn't even think about it any more until last week at work. I kneeled down to get something on a low shelf (I work at a restaurant) and when I tried to get up, I experiened the same sudden, painful pull and was stuck on the floor in the kitchen for two hours. This time it was worse than I remember, and I really freaked the staff out because I even started feeling sick and faint. The owner called an ambulance because it started to get worse, pain even when I was lying perfectly still. However, due to bigger priorities, I actually got better before the ambulance ever arrived ( 1 1/2 hours later). It sort of cleared itself up like it did when I was a kid. I went to a walk-in clinic and was told it was a tendon that had simply cramped. Could it be that it was worse this time because I'm getting older? (I'm only 19 but still) This happened several days ago yet I can still feel a discomfort there. I just want to be sure I didn't injure something and that this isn't any reason for me to worry there might be something wrong. If anybody knows what I am talking about, that would be very helpful.

considering the length of time that you have had this occuring, i do think it is time to get this checked out by an ortho doc.Since this started for no apparent reason when you were younger, it could be some sort of structual malformation inside of the knee area.Or you actually could have done some sort of an injury to it while tearing around the house and just being a kid.it is quite possible that you may have done something to it while playing around that was rather insignificant at the time so you really do not remember any sort of specific event or accident, but it left it's mark.Getting your knee evaluated by an orthopedic doc with a possible MRI done as well, would probably be your best bet at this point to try and determine if there really is some sort of structual problem going on in there. What you have been experiencing would not be considered 'normal".let me know just what you find out,K?hopefully it is nothing major.FB
