Hi, I am a male and I recently had a sexual encounter with a prostitute. In general the prostitute seemed hygenic.
We had oral sex (unprotected) which continued for around 90 seconds. For around 45 seconds she gave me a blow job and another 45 seconds she licked me my anal. After that we had protected sex for a short while.
Now what's getting me really tensed is the Oral sex. What if she had a cut in her mouth which led to me being exposed?
It was my first experience with a prostitute therefore I am extra tensed. The incident happened around 8 days ago and I am getting jittery about every little thing in my body. Since morning I feel I have a slight flu and minimum temprature and I feel its something to do with HIV. I know its tension, but I can't stop thinking.
I definitely am going to get myself tested (after 3 months) but the wait seems really long. I feel my anxiety will not let me do anything till then.
Someone please give me more insight into my HIV scare .

Oral sex generally carries a low risk route to transmission. Unless she was bleeding profusley, then I think you should be okay. Guilt and stress will certainly play a role in making you feel sick as well.

PanaSONIQUE is being really nice, here. My question here is: "Why are you surprised that you may have an HIV scare when you went to a prostitute for sex?" Not to be judgemental, but when you walk in front of a speeding locomotive, are you then surprised when you're splattered all over the tracls.
Secondly, I am interested in knowing how you assessed the prostitutes hygiene? The point that I am trying to make is that there are tons of people who are walking around who are HIV positive and yet for the majority of us, you would not know.
But, as panaSONIQUE responded: oral sex carried a low risk of transmission. However, under the right conditions - sex with an HIV+ person, open sores, bleeding gums, etc then you might as well kiss you butt goodbye. chris

Hi Sarah,
In another message I recently posted that I have 'fisher' in the anal. This usually is a opening but not a bleeding wound. I received unprotected oral in my anal. I am aware that she should not have been bleeding... and I am pretty sure there was no blood around her mouth or lips.
Can her slaiva be a carrier? Please advice where do I stand in regards to the above description?
If say her tongue was cut then by mearly touch my anal considered risky?
Thank you soo much!

Woah, lets quantify your risk. Theoretical, near nil. Recieving oral is close to nil risk.
Saliva has actually been shown to inhibt the virus. Think about serodiscordant couples, or even couples who have protected sex where one is unaware of their status, who kiss just the same as everybody else. If saliva was a valid means of transmission, we would know.
And as for making assumptions about the prostitutes health, oral, physical or sexual, thats a bad road to go down. To you it was a bit of fun, to her, its a job. If she didnt take care of herself then she would not be employed for long would she. Give her some credit and never assume anything about this disease and who, how or why they have got it.
You will be fine, I will bet on it. And if you cant handle the nature of what visiting a prostitute entails, the refrain from it :)
Booya!

Hi MrJon,
Thank you for your assurance. You have made me feel better!
There is one small issue that is bothering me still. Like I mentioned that I had a slight cut (fisher) in my anal where she performed an unprotected oral. I am quite confident that my cut was not bleeding and is slightly covered (healed).
Now how exposed or risky is it that on my cut she performed oral. What are the chances of me receiving anything through her mouth or small cut on her tongue? I guess I would really never know if she had any cuts or soares in her mouth (she was definitely not bleeding profusely).
Please advice! Thx
MrJon

Hey how ya doing?
Well, unless she was bleeding profusely and you were too, then you don't have to worry. The likelyhood of that ever occuring is beyond slim. You will be fine trust me. If you want to test then do so as it will calm your nerves. But I assure you will it be negative. But learn from this and the feeling you are feeling right now. If it upsets you to be this intimate with someone you don't know then don't do it.
And I know exactly how you feel on all counts there.
Keep the faith :)

Hi MrJon,
Thank you for your feedback. You are truly an angel  .
It feels good to be comforted during the moment of crisis.
Yes, I agree with you, in future I will always think thrice before acting upon a sexual encounter with an unknown individual. The stress is definitely not worth it.
Thanks
