MY doctor found blood in my stool yesterday.I go for a CT of the abdomin tomorrow and a colonoscopy later. I am a hypercondriac, I think the worst all the time. I am only 21 and he said I am to young to have colon cancer, but what are some other symptoms of colon cancer than just blood in the stool?

not to be a downer, but I had blood in my stool at 21, was told it was internal hemmroids and just this summer found it was rectal cancer (I'm 27). While I wouldn't automatically dismiss cancer due to your age (especially if colrectal cancers run in your family... mine is very genetic on my paternal side, both my grandfather and father have had colon cancer), don't worry too much until your colonoscopy. Hopefully it will just be a hemmroid or a non cancerous polyp. Also, for what it's worth, I have no other symptoms. Colon cancer is often asymptomatic until it's late stage.

Thanks, nobody in my family that i know of has had colon cancer or any cancer. But my dad and uncle both had hemmroids. I have the CT of the abdomen done today. And mabey the colonoscopy done later next week.
