View Full Version : Cataract Surgery

Back in 2000 I had cataract surgery on my left eye. Surgery went well and I had no problems following the surgery. With that eye I had only waited about 8 months from diagnoisive of cataract to surgery.
Two years ago I was diagnoised with a cataract in my right(bad)eye. I let it go for 2 year because I can't see much out of that eye anyway. Big mistake! When the cataract was removed the protein had eaten the lens and it was liquid, a milky white color. I ended up with 5 stitches in my eye, pain, and alot of blood in the eye.
K I'll get to the point...don't wait in getting the cataract removed!!!! I waited way too long :(

I'm so sorry to hear this, Johna. My Dr. is making me wait til medicaid will pay for it! If you don't mind, I may share your unfortunate story with him--maybe wake & shake him a little!

Again, I am so sorry.

Tony

Please do talk to your doctor about waiting too long to get the cataract out of your eye soon. Usually a sound instrument is used to break the cataract up than it's sucked out, with no stitches. Thanks for listening Tony :)

Hello, Johna-- I will see him the 29th, and will see if I can speed things up. I'm seeing pretty well today, so it's not real bad, but some days, I can't see as well.
That's the kind of surgery he does alright--phasoemulsification, or something like that--not sure of the word. For certain, he does the no-stitch kind.
Always glad to listen!;)

Tony
