View Full Version : ct w/ fluid draw?

I had a consultation with gyn/onc yesterday. I'm having an US today to check fluid in abdomen and then will probably be scheduled for ct w/ fluid draw (where they use a needle in the abdomen to draw out fluid and test it). Had anyone had this done?

Country Girl,
I just read you post that was written end of August.
how did your test go?
you didn't give much detail to your problem.
do you have any ovarian cysts that caused the fluid to build up in your abdomen or pelvis?
how much fluid and where did they find it?
I hope your test came out clean and that you're well.
please give us update if you happen to read this.
sincerely,
Linda

I had the u/s that showed ascites, then didn't get scheduled for paracentesis for 2 1/2 weeks because of reports getting sent to wrong doctor. When I went for paracentesis, my pelvic area was bloated, but the fluid that was shown higher up (where they could take a sample) was not there and they can't do it low because they might puncture bowel. All is irrelevant now as I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy and we'll know soon whether all this trouble has been cysts or OC.

Country Girl,
I don't know if you reported back after your surgery. I've been jumping back and forth between posts.
How did the hysterectomy go?
did they find malignancy?
what was it?
how are you feeling?
I had ascities too and they never said they wanted to test it. I guess it wasn't enough build up of it? the dr said a little is normal in the cul de sac.
I'm sorry if I've already spoken to you after your surgery but I'm quite confused who I reply to at times because I reply to alot of woman.
I hope you get this message.
then I have to remember where I posted to other woman and go back and find the replies to my post. it's confusing to me.
as I'm aging, I've had such problems with mental clarity and I can't remember things anymore. It makes me so upset.
I hope that your surgery came out clear.

sincerely,
Linda
