Hi.....I'm wondering if anyone has had good results with a Mediterranean-type diet. You know, olives and olive oil, avocado, and generally any mono fats are allowed. I think Eat Yourself Slim might be based on similar principles. How effective is cutting out saturated fat and replacing it with mono fats?

The Mediterranean Diet is very healthy. Olive oil is one of the best fats you can take in, vs. vegetable oils, etc. Some celebrity, I want to say Oprah, uses this way of eating, or did. I just saw her on a tabloid - how she lost 68 pounds or something like that, and since I didn't read it, she may have changed her methods. Remember the liquid diet she was on a few years ago? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Anyway, everyone is different. I do better with more protein and less bread and cheese.

Thanks! I think I'd like to try that for a while, as well as replacing bread, potatoes, white pasta, etc. with more whole grains and veggies. Summer is definately the time to try this type of eating, while all the produce is FRESH! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif-k.
