I am hypoglycemic and have basically been doing what I was told by the doctor--eat small, regular meals. however, I find that even with this, I am still dizzy/tired/irritable if I don't get protein. Could a low-carb diet help me? I am also trying to lose weight, and I find that if I eat protein it sometimes helps my sugar cravings. Any advice would be reccommended!!!

Yes! Read the book "Protein Power" by Michael R. Eades, MD.

Protein is very necessary for hypoglycemia. A friend had it severely in her 20's, was in the hospital etc. No one told her to increase her protein, and she suffered with dizziness, passing out, and generally feeling terrible. Enter regular high protein intake, and voila, no more hypoglycemic reactions. The Eades' book is excellent. So is The Diet Cure, by Judith Ross.
