I am in desperate need to gain weight, I don't have an eating disorder I'm just naturally thin. i don't look terrible but I know I would feel better about myself if I gained a few kgs. Does anyone have the same problem or know how to help me out? also are there any websites with information on how to gain weight that are cost free. Also I took up smoking 6 months ago could this be a problem in trying to gain weight?
(By the way I am a female)

Hello, One of my sisters uses cigarettes to lose weight, because she doesn't feel like eating when she's puffing. She gains the weight back when she goes off the cigarettes. Depending on how old you are...Be satisfied if you're young. You'll gain weight later on. I used to have trouble gaining weight when I was in high school and I drank milk shakes every night! I didn't gain weight until I finished college, then my weight was perfect. (I ate a lot of pizza...I competed with the guys in pizza eating contests.) About 2-3 years after I started working I gained another 5 lbs. eating 1 doughnut a day for break time in addition to breakfast. I lost the 5 lbs. on a 800 cal. diet. Gained weight again after my first child and lost it on a 3-day diet routine and exercise. Got high cholesterol and lowered it with a low fat/low cal. diet (10-39g. fat and 1400 cal./day) and more exercise and lost weight again. Now I'm the perfect weight again and don't worry about my weight. You'll gain weight when your body's ready.

Smoking could definitely be a problem. What sort of things do you eat in a normal day?

I always have breakfast, lunch and dinner, normally toast for breakfast, sandwiches or hot food for lunch and usually steak and vegies for dinner, I also have a 20 month old son who keeps me very busy.

Well, the only way to put on weight is to eat more calories. You are quite lucky that you can do that. If you are maintaining a steady weight with what you are currently eating, then all you need to do is add a little something extra, say dessert with dinner or eat a heartier breakfast. You should very slowly gain if you do this.
