I had a CT of the abdomin and pelvis today because the doctor found blood in my stool and I have had these 2 lumps on both sides above my pelvis. The right one is bigger than the left. My doctor said its stool built up, but I have never heard of that and I have been going to the bathroom and they havent reduced at all. I think I have lost a little bit of weight. Mabey 6 or 7 pounds in a couple of weeks. I am 21 and I am a hypercondriac. I think the worst all the time. Does anybody feel that these symptoms could be cancer? Could these lumps be tumors? I know weight loss is a symptom but how much, 15 pounds more or less? Nobody in my family has every had cancer that I know of.

The CT will tell your physician what he or she needs to know. I think that life must be very difficult for people who are hypochondriacs; if you really worry constantly about your health, you might consider seeking treatment for that. Otherwise, it's important to remember that no matter how much you worry, it won't change the ultimate outcome. Worrying won't make it easier for you to deal with bad news, and will just make your life miserable in the meantime. Moreover, if you are calm and collected, your physician will find it easier to address your concerns and your symptoms.
Be good to yourself.
