If one or more parents have allergies, does this mean the child will be born with allergies.

It can run in families. My mother had bad allergies but then I was in an incubator for several weeks and wasn't breast fed. They say that breast milk is best for the immune system and since allergies are an immune system disorder, I would think that would be at least one way to perhaps lessen the chances.

This is a toughie. It can run in families, but it is not guarenteed. My grandfather had horrible allergies, needed shots and everything. My mom(his daughter) has very mild allergies. She's one of those people who just needs to take medicine a few weeks each spring. But then I got horrible allergies, and my sister didn't! Go figure.
