JP3955 08-18-2005, 11:43 PM I was just diagnosed with CTS in left wrist. There is just tingling at this point. Are my playing years over? What should I do? Sponsor EricJP 10-10-2005, 02:22 PM I have CTS in both wrists and I play piano, guitar, AND I am a computer programmer. Through diligent physical therapy, taking the appropriate supplements, and learning to respond to my body when it tells me what to do, I have been able to keep my playing going for over 10 years. I have lost some dexterity and strength, but that is better than not being able to play at all. Learn everything you can about how to avoid incorrect use. This is difficult when playing guitar, but it can be done. I also limit what I do to what I love. Sports that I like get ditched, sports that I love I adjust. |
