I took Ultracet for a few months for relatively minor pain. After the pain went away I just stopped taking it without thinking anything about it. My doctor had told me it was a low level pain killer. It is actually a synthetic opiate with addictive capabilities. I had tremors, insomnia, vivid dream sequences, nausea. I tapered off slowly over the course of a month, maybe not slow enough, and am still having withdrawal symptoms about a week after last taking it. My head is cloudy and I can't concentrate. My doctor says this may last a month or more. Anybody have similar experiences?
I do not think people realize how bad this drug is, I finally have been clean from Tramadol for 3 weeks now and still physically tough. I didn't have that much mental but my body cramped all over and still is to some extent. I have been put on xanax just to survive and its helping a lot. I just have to be careful and not get hung up with it, I've only been taking it a couple of days. Did you have chest pain coming off? I still am and thinking its from the stress from the odeal. In 1995 my doc that done my hip surgery said it was a great alternitive to Narcs, I have come off of Hydros and the Tramadol is 100 times worse. I wish you the best of luck and pray it gets better, KK

Bad drug. Very addictive. Look at the two posts that I pulled back up on ((tramadol Not addictive? Not true!!))
Thanks for responding Bart. I did not have chest pains. I've been completely off about 12 days now. My head is less foggy and my headache is less dull but the symptoms are still there. I finally can focus enough to get some work done. My doctor gave me an anti-hypertension (brings BP down) medication but it knocks me out. I only took it a few times. My problems are more mental and yours seem more physical. Good Luck
