Your post was brought to my attention, and I wanted to try to ease your mind a bit. Sobbing is a huge part of anxiety, it is sometimes used as a release and you feel better once you have released all of your pent up emotions, anxiety as I don't need to tell you puts you under an intense amount of worry, fear, and sometimes little things just get too much to handle.
I personally never sobbed while in my high anxiety mode, but people do, I have been living with GAD for 4 years now,in remission for 3, and in the beginning it was hard for me to even be on the phone, I just found it too much of a strain I would find myself hurrying the conversation, just so I could get off the phone and have nothing expected of me. So I think what you are going through is as normal for us as it gets.
Of course if you are really afraid, then speak to your Dr, it never hurts. I hope this has helped a little.

If it does mean short of breath then yes I will get this when my anxiey attack is kicking in. My attacks happen in social situations where I am nervous or excited and it leads to shortness of breath, nausea etc. I think most anxiety sufferers get short of breath probably when they are in a difficult situation or converasation or whatever the cause is

Actually i did mean shortness of breath....sorry for the misunderstanding....the unusual part about it is it happens generally when i am having a phone conversation - it's almost a feeling like having to come up for air - just wondered if this was a symptom of anxiety.

anxiety can cause bad breathing, you should take deep breaths and slowly, being sure to empty your lungs when breathing out
avoid rapid shallow panting
