Hi Everyone,
What would you say works better Xenadrine(either one) or Metabolife? What are the pros and cons of both? Also, I saw a previous post that named some diet pill that was a time release capsule. Can anyone tell me what that is? Thanks!

I have never taken Metabolife, but I did take Xenedrine (Ephedra free) for 5 weeks. It supresses your appetite a bit, wakes you up, etc.. However, the more info. I get about it, it seems that the more weight you have to lose, the more you will lose. I really only have about 10lbs I could lose, and I only lost 2.5 lbs. in 5 weeks. I have heard from some people on the Health Board who took the same product, that they lost 30 lbs. in 1 month. If I lost 30 lbs. I would be in the hospital at 90 lbs. soaking wet.
So, I guess it works if you have the weight to lose. It is also not the product that makes you lose the weight. It is the energy it gives you...that makes you want to get up and move that helps you lose the weight.
I hope this helps on the Xenedrine side of your question.

AZ24, thank you that information helps. Did you have any side effects from the Xenadrine EFX?

Blippo,
Thanks, but I've done that. Most of the posts are just people saying they have started taking it, but there are no follow ups to show how they liked it or disliked it. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

No I didn't have any side effects. The first few days I could notice a difference in energy, but I never had any side effects concerning sleeping, eating, shakiness, etc..

This is an error in my view. A potentially dangerous one at that. This line of thinking leads to people taking higher and higher doses the product, which can be dangerous. They keep taking more and more because they are looking for that energy boost to help them supposedly burn fat. The energy is actually the result of beta 1 and beta 2 receptor stimulation. When beta 1 and beta 2 stimulation no longer occur because your body has adapted to the stimulation, it absolutely does NOT mean the product is no longer working. In fact, most people who lose lots of weight do so by taking the recommended dose over some course of time even after they don't feel the energy from the supplement at recommended doses. Yet it is just as effective over time as it was in the beginning. When your body adapts to beta 1 and 2 stimulation the weight loss will still occur even though you cannot feel the energy boost. This is probably a result of beta 3 stimulation, which does not give you jitters, but increases metabolism just the same.

Do NOT take ephedra and think that the energy it gives you is the reason why you are losing weight. The energy probably accounts for a very small percentage of the weight loss. Just follow the directions on the label.

I have never tried Metabolife, but I have lost 75lbs over the last past year taking Xenadrine RFA-1. I take one pill in the morning and one around 1:00pm and I dont exercise the way I should.I have not had any side effects it just curbs my appetite. My doctor adviced me to try it and I am really glad I did.
wishing you the best.

PattyM,
Could you tell me how much mg's of Ephedrine is in your Xenadrine-RFA? I want to compare it to the Metabolife. When your Doctor recommended taking it did he warn you about any side effects? Was he a nutritionist or your normal doctor? I'm only asking because I have never heard of a normal doctor advising someone to take diet pills containing Ephedrine. Thanks!

I've been taking Hydroxycut for about 2 months now and really haven't seen any results. It's basically the same as Xenadrine. I think they're all a big waste of money. Just eat healthy and exercise and you'll get to where you want to go.

There are 20 mg of ephedrine in RFA-1. i have taken metabolife and Xendrine. for me they both provided the weight loss, but i was really moody and irritable on metabolife.
i took the recommended amt.
some of my side effects for both were:
sweating, increased energy, hot red nose for like 15 minutes soon after taking pills(weird, but true), l went from 138 to 123 from february to april. people thought i was too thin at 123. ( i am 5'9") i wasn't eating much, didn't feel like it.
i have been off X for a month and have gone back up to 135 so now i'm back on it for the past week. not the same effects though. still get hot but i could still eat a lot too, very hungry. but maybe i am just falsely recalling an immediate reduction in weight and appetite. i will be patient and wait.
weight loss for me was all over so even my breast size decreased (can't really afford that!)
