Has anyone took this drug and any bad side effects with it? I have yeast overgrowth from taking this drug to long for strep throat!

I have taken levaquin before, but did not have any problem with it. If your body is not use to taking an antibiotic, it is pretty common to develop a yeast infection as a result. It is called a reaction to the medication. You must drink plenty of water while on any antibiotic. My advice is to call your doctor to let him/her know that you now too have an yeast infection.

I have taken Leavquin(and cipro) numerous times with no bad side effects...even up to 21 days at both 500mg and 750mg

I went into anaphylactic shock with levaquin and had to be air lifted to a major medical center....:(

never took it myself but my daughter had a horrible reaction to it. tore her belly up,yeast infection just felt horrible for weeks afterwards. on the other hand my husband loves it.

I took Levaquin for a week for a respiratory infection, and had no ill side effecs whatsoever.

Wanted to share my story with you about levaquin my husband took it for phemiona and he had gotten steven johnson syndrome from it it was very sever he had blisters from head to toe and more would grow on top of that after them poped and he was air lifted to a major hospital and on life support and all so be carefull if you develope a rash make sure your doc knows and watch it carefully!!!! some do well on it and some dont just be carefull on any meds you take because we almost lost him due to this!!!

I took Levaquin one time and that will be the last time too. I had a very bad reaction to it. I had severe cramping and bleeding from my bowels for several days. I was told by the ER doc to not take it again.
