If anyone is taking mobic, please let me know your experience with it. I have alot of stomach pain in the upper part of my stomach and I'm wondering if it could be from the mobic or if it is my hiatal hernia...because I heard that mobic causes irritation in the stomach.

I was first on celebrex for joint pain and then my primary switched me to mobic. I took it for about a week. It did not help. My gastro then advised me not to take any NSAIDs since I am prone to gastritis. So I use ultram (tramadol) when I have joint pain.

If you have stomach problems, you should not take mobic or any NSAID or aspirin without taking a proton pump inhibitor like achiphex, nexium, prevacid or prilosec.

Thank you for your reply....I do take nexium because I have acid reflux disease and erosion of the esophagus.
