It was on the news today that a well-known ophthalmologist in my area was recently sentenced to 2 years in prison for sexually assaulting at least 10 of his patients. They only know of 10, but they said there are probably a lot more who were assaulted but didn't know it because they were sedated.

Some of the patients that he sexually assaulted were eye cancer patients who were sedated while they were having their affected eye removed because of the cancer. What a creep.

He also lost his license for the rest of his life and can't practice every again.

That's gross. It kinda reminds me of the dentists that do that when they are alone with patients who are sedated for a procedure in the office.

But I don't understand. If they were having a cancerous eyeball removed, wasn't it being done in a hospital, where there were nurses with him in the operating room?

Some of the incidents occured at the hospital operating room and others occured at his office operating room. Some of the surgical techs and another doctor testified against him, saying that they all saw him touching/fondling patients.

This ophthalmologist creep also has to register as a convicted sex offender.

That would be my worst nightmare as a patient.
