Ok so my hair used to be pretty straight with a slight wave to it but I was able to blow dry it straight in 5 minutes flat. Lately my hair has become a lot thinner and wavier and it has become almost impossible to get it straight. It now takes me about 15 minutes to blow dry my hair straight, which is a waste of time anyway because on humid days, the second I step outside it goes right back to it's waves. I always get so jealous of these girls with gorgeous, thick, pin straight hair. So to avoid this problem, I often just let my hair air dry wavy in the summer, but it just never looks good because I have such fine, limp waves. Does anyone else have this problem or have any recommendations of things I can do for my unruly hair? Thanks.

That's strange. You'd think that because your hair is thinner, it would be more manageable.
I have naturally straight hair...but of course letting it air dry would be a nightmare since it's so thick. I blowdry mine straight for at least 30-40 minutes. That's a long time, but it works for me even though my hair is so thick.
Humidity is a problem for me too that I haven't really been able to solve. My hair doesn't get wavy though, it just poofs up, and that's worse.
Those girls you see with perfect hair are probably straightening it with irons.
So if you want you can try that.
I also recently got this shampoo. My sister gave it to me because she didn't like it. I don't know where she got it from... But it's called Simply Straight by Marc Anthony.
It's green and comes in a clear bottle.
I think she got it for about $6.
It's won't work miracles and leave your hair pin straight of course... but it does help.
It's made my hair a bit more shiny and easier to manage when I'm blowdrying it straight. You can try that if you can find it anywhere.
If not, then just get a ceramic straightening iron and use that maybe twice a week or something. Just make sure you protect your hair with a serum, and it will probably solve at least one of your problems.
I use the Pantene serum sometimes. It comes in a little bottle (don't remeber how much it costs). But that also leaves my hair shiny and soft; and it will protect your hair from the iron (if you decided to get one of those).
Good Luck!

Well you got that right. Strange pretty much sums up the description of my hair in one word...lol. Thanks for the tips though. I will try them. Also, I've never used a flat iron before...exactly what is the procedure in doing it correctly without damaging your hair. Do you blow your hair out straight first, then iron? Thanks again.

Gah! Ok I just went out and purchased a flat iron today and it made my hair look so beautiful and soft and straight and shiny. Then I went outside and lo and behold, my hair got frizzy again. I was soo pissed. I thought those things were supposed to protect against frizz. What am I doing wrong?

try using a straightening gel on your hair when it is damp. after you have ironed it, use a small amount of smoothing cream.

Dry your hair first and then straighten it.
Use a serum before you iron since that will keep it from burning, and it will also make your hair even softer and smoother.
