Hi All,
I am not sure what is going on but I am confused as to what to do next. In June I had a Endoscopy and Colonoscopy because there was blood found in a stool hemocult test. Since the Endoscopy and Colonoscopy I have been experiencing stools that are clay like in nature (not formed) and diarrhea. I have brought this up to my regular family physician and he seems more focused on the indigestion and throat irritation. He had me take an over the counter acid blocker. It did help the throat irritation somewhat. It did nothing for the stool problem or the gassious problem. Is there something that one can take to help this. I would like my stools to go back to normal -- I really feel funny when my digestion is working like this. What should one do?
Wondering,

The diarrhea can be helped by taking a water soluble fiber supplement like Metamucil or Equate brand from Wal Mart and make sure to drink enough water like the directions say. Too little water will cause constipation.
I think when you bulk up your stool -- the color will go back to normal.
Psyllium that is in Metamucil will cause alot of gas when you first start using it but it will go away with continued use.
You may want to eat yogurt daily -- after the watery type stools during the prep for a colon exam -- it sometimes upsets a person's friendly intestial bacteria that needs some help re-balancing it. __ Not everyone has that problem??
I wish you well---Harry

I have the same problem right now. Thankfully, I am going in for blood tests and an endoscope next week.
I believe I have some major malabsorption issues going on and after meeting with two new doctors yesterday, I was relieved that they are going to run some tests on me within my budget.

Wolfman67,
What do you do if they find that you have malabsorbtion? I am wondering about that myself.

I will not know for awhile, Littlegeneral...my blood tests are this Tuesday. I'm guessing I will know before the end of the week.
I have heard of people getting either injections of B12, Iron and sometimes even steroids to boost their immune system. I can't confirm this, though!
