i told yall!!! they had a story on NPR today about croc blood killing off HIV, and australian scientists are rushing to get as much as possible for potential experiments with humans.!! ah ha, that'll teach yall to listen to me and not make jokes about self fertilization and so forth. :nono:

There is no point in telling you I suppose that you can't inject foreign blood wether it be type or species into a human body. This is the reason the type blood such as A+ B, O or a combination. I know it is exciting to think of the possibilities just as I was excited about the work with Valproic Acid, we should never give up hope. It will be a while before they come up with something to cure this dis-ease and whomever finds it will have to battle the pharmaceutical companies who are making millions off the meds that keep us alive. I know I am playing devils advocate here but I am a realist. I do hope that someday soon they will find away to counter this virus. There are even some schools of thought that say this is not a virus at all more like a hook worm or fluke. See Dr Hulda Clark from mexicos work. I have her book and some of her thoughts are sound. Thanks for the update.....

Dear Abakos - Certainly I trust NPR above most things and have a greater respect for NPR news that I do crocodiles, but I have to agree with ANGEL (I'd be an idiot if I didn't). The fact is that you cannot introduce blood from one species into another. Certainly there will be a great deal of testing to determine what element in the blood of crocodiles cause it to be resistant to HIV but that will take so much time.... Don't be grumpy about the jokes. It gave a chance to be lighthearted about this stupid disease and humor, as we all know can be as equal an antidote as,perhaps, crocodile blood. Also, just for you, remember they laughed at Michaelangelo, Leo*****, Salk, as well. chris

I don't realy watch much tv but ill throw my opinion in anyway .
With science today and genetic experiments what if they find a way ( in the distant future ) to geneticaly alter the blood to make it possable to cross it over to humans like a kind of ( viral antibiotic ) so that it fights the battle against hiv for us .
I'm sure when penacilin first came out people must have thought .....( how could putting a fungas into our bodies actualy kill bacteria )
And also vaccinations who'd would have though that putting the actual infection into our bodies would actualy make us immune to it .
Now I'm sure that even if they did come up with some kind of serum or theriputic vaccine that it would take more than a few weeks cours of treatment or or a few shots to destroy the infection but mabe a treatment regimen over the cours of a few years .
There so many different thought and opnions on how a cure would work and also the fact that in the over 25 years that hiv has been around that it has never been isolated also makes it very difficult to actualy study it and most of the treatments today are theory based by the effects of the infection and not on the infection itself .
But whatever the reasoning behind antiretroviral therapy the reality is people are living longer and better because of it .

I figure they'll break down the blood and actually find out what about it does the killing and find some way to synthetically reproduce it. That's if they find no way to extract it and get the human body to accept it.

Good point daysleeper .
The blood is still in formulation and what they need to do is find out what is in it that destroys the infection itself .
Could it be the antibodies , some enzyme in the blood or the white blood cells themselves and with all that they have they're work cut out for them and I'm sure it will take years and if a effective treatment did come about I'm sure it would also take years of treatments to finaly clear someone of the infection .

They know that crocs are very resilient to infection and the properties in the blood are very potent antimicrobial or anti bacterial proteins...They also say they are so powerful that humans may not be able to handle them because of the potency....Hey its a start lol....Keep smiling all you poz people and keep taking your meds and taking care of yourself through diet, exercise and whatever trips your spiritual triggers....blessings
