hi hbh,
I had SSDI when I lived in North Carolina. I had it for five years. Once that time was closing....I received a letter from the state I was in...Texas and I had to go and see one of their doctors, fill out some paperwork, etc. He saw me for 15 minutes, and kicked me off SSDI. He as far as I'm concerned, doomed me. I've been working almost 5 years now. I have worked since I was 15 years old, except for those 5 years. My fibro has gotten worse in the last 2 years. It's very bad. I wish someone would tell me how long they've gone on SSDI.

Hi, I have only been on SSD for a year. In a letter they sent me they said I was ok'd for 3 to 5 years. I think the important thing is to keep fighting with them. I know they have Dr.s out there that it is their job to get you off/or not let you on. I know when my review comes around I will fight to keep my SSD. My husband has been on SSD for 6 years. But it took him 2 years of fighting to get his. So I would say reapply and keep reappling til you get it.
Best of wishs and good luck

Hi. I'm mostly a lurker, but have posted several times. I have been on SSD for seven years. It took a lawyer and two years to get it but I did get the back pay. It's very hard but you just have to keep persisting. They really don't want to approve it! Just a FYI-if you have any depression you get approved quicker. My lawyers' sister has fibro and he got it for her also. Keep at it and don't let them get you down! Good luck.
