I am trying to combat a panic disorder and would like to get some cassettes and videos for yoga and meditation. There's A LOT out there and I was hoping someone here would have some good recommendations.

BlueStar18 08-23-2005, 09:31 AM If you have cable and you have the channel oxygen, you should do the yoga they have, its on at 6am, I know its early but this way you can give it a try before you spend the money, just to make sure you like it. I purchased a yoga tape and was very disappointed with it, I rather do Inhale( yoga show) at 6am. .Dot 08-31-2005, 02:13 PM Kundalini yoga is wonderful! It gently works out and stretches your body, while strongly focusing on getting you to relax. Other yogas can get a little too strenuous and quick to work on calming you down. I'm a very stressed out, anxious over-thinker who's very impatient... however, when I enter the kundalini class, I find those irritations slowly melting off... and my body gets a good workout and stretch, too! If you get DTV... and recieve channel 1000 (the movie channel)... try channel 114 (i think... otherwise its somewhere around there) on the workout channel, they have free yoga classes ... although they're not very good. annihanni 08-30-2006, 01:27 PM What I did to find the perfect Yoga video was rent from Blockbuster online. THey have all the best reviewed dvds on Amazon and even more workout videos. After that, I bought the ones I liked. A nice one to start out with is Rodney Yee AM & PM Yoga. Two 10 minute workouts. If you do it in baby steps you are more likely to stick with it, and everyone can find 10 minutes. After you master it and have a preference to Yoga, you add more. Another good one for later is Sean Corne, wonderful instruction. Good Luck! |
