I have not called my dr yet and I know I need to but I am wondering if I have diabetes. I had a baby 2 months ago and was starting to get back on my feet but lately I am so tired. My husband has been getting up at night with the baby and I have been going to bed early so I am definitly getting 8 hours of sleep a night. Also in the morning I feel shakey. I usually drink apple or orange juice for breakfast but I still feel weak and shakey after that. I was thinking that the sugar in those juices should help. I used to get this mildly before being pg and drinking juice helped. Now it doesn't and today I had it happen in the after noon and not just the morning. I am wondering if this sounds like it could be diabetes. I know I have to go to the dr at some point but I am just not looking foward to finding out I have something more wrong with me, as I have other medical problems. And, no, I don't think what I feel is related to them. Thanks in advance for your input.

Why would you think you have diabetes? Did you have gestational? Do you have other symptoms of thirst, hunger, loosing weight, nausea? The shakey you described could be hypoglycemia or low blood sugar but by drinking juice you actually make it worse. What happens w/ hypo is that the blood sugar spikes from carbs and sends out too much insulin hence making the person feel shakey or low. If it is hypo, you are better off staying away from juice, refined carbs like bread, or any carb that is quickly digested.
Better to get to the do sooner than later. You do have a baby to consider. You are no good to him/her if you arent well. Its awful to be sick when your a mom. Really, there is no time for it.
