My symptoms include extreme bloating and gas(even more so after eating.) Just the past couple of weeks i have noticed that everytime i burp, i get an acidic taste in the back of my throat, almost like i am throwing up a little bit and its very acidic. I do suffer from constipation.. and thats about all I can tell you. I have also been having very bad headaches the last few weeks.. the only reason i noticed this is because I NEVER get headaches. I dont know if that is due to something else, but I just thought i would add it. If anyone has any ideas/thoughts on what could be wrong I would really appreciate it. Thank you so so much (in advance :) )

well I lived with all of those symptoms and, i never new what the culprit was.. I iliminated gluten from my diet at 100% and, they have all gone away.. I was living with undiagnised celiac disease for like ever.. but, now I feel great.. you shouldnt take antacids if you feel like that. Find the culprit. :).. find the food thats causing you to feel like that and, iliminate it. I bet ya its the gluten. :)..
Im on the gluten free diet.

well I dont wanna scare you but, gluten is the biggest additive.. it is found in all of the cereal grains and, all of the processed foods.. So to iliminate it you must eat all natural.. You can have fruits, veggies, plain meat, raw nuts, tuna in water, plain rice, rice cakes, Gluten free pasta, Gluten free cereals, Gluten free cookies, etc.. organic eggs.. as you can see its extremely healthy eating.. any damages done to your body will begin to heal on this diet but, it must be followed for life.. This is the way i eat and, i never cheat. I also make my own spices.. sooo Gluten is Wheat.

ana,
Gluten is the culprit that causes Celiac Disease. It is an inherited disease that damages the villi in the small intestines.
Gluten is found in these grains wheat, rye, barley and oats -- and their by-products.
It is not in rice, corn or potatoes-- you can buy gluten free products from health food stores. But as Losec said-- wheat is used as a filler in alot of processed foods!!

thank you so much Losec and Harry. Maybe this is the problem that I have. I would love to try living on the gluten free diet for a while and see if i come up with any good results but I am sick of this constant state of discomfort I'm currently living in. I eat pretty healthy as it is.. I don't eat pasta bread rice fish or meat. I think the only thing that would be tough is no cereal because Ive been living off of All Bran Extra Fiber Cereal due to the fact that I suffer from constipation as well. Other than that vegetables are my life. I am really going to try. Ill keep you guys updated on how things are going if I can fully devote myself to this (and I think I need to at this point.)
Thanks so so s os o much

ana,
There are celiac websites which have lots of information about glutose intolerance and how to adjust your diet to avoid gluten. Once you are able to eliminate it from your diet you can see if your symptoms start to go away. Sometimes it takes a few months for the body to heal, but you should notice SOME positive results in a few days or a week or two. That way you'll know if it's gluten that's causing your problems.
When you start to feel deprived of your favorite things, ask here in this board, and we can suggest alternatives. For example, you say you will miss your cereal. You can try cornflakes (without any malt flavorings) or rolled buckwheat (my personal favorite at the moment) or several other non wheat/rye/barley) cereals (cooked or just pour-and-eat). A good source is a healthfood store. Look for a "gluten-free" label. Fiber can be increased with flax seeds -- ground flax seeds are more digestible than whole.
Good luck. It takes a bit of adjustment (ok, a LOT of adjustment!) at first, but if your symptoms improve, then it's worth it.

I eat my veggies raw and plain. I never eat cooked veggies unless I am out to eat because most restaurants wont serve you up a nice plate of just raw veggies lol. I live on vegetables. asparagus, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, carrots, green beens, spinach. you name it, i eat it.

ana,
I think you are suffering from a very poor diet problems--
Your body needs vital and necessary nutrients for it to function---
You need protein, essential fatty acid and many other things just to replace the cells you lose and keep organs working ---
Where do you think they are going to come from???

You could have dyspepsia, which is what I suffer from. It's not acid reflux, but it does cause acidic tastes in the throat. The headaches are probaly from the stress of the stomach situation. I went to a gastrointerologist, but he didn't offer me much help. I have a dead end diagnosis and suffer even with antacids.

Hey Losec,
I'm trying to help people on other sites, and they think I'm a frickin quack. Why is that? I'm honestly trying to help people, yet I'm getting bashed pretty badly. Maybe there so addicted that they can't face the challenge of eating healthy foods. Oh well, I'm still trying!! I was accused of being being a salesman. I got upset, but, I don't really care if they choose to suffer instead..

thomas dont worry about it, you will find people that will listen.. for some these foods are like drugs and, they would rather feel sick and, take tons of pills rather then try a new diet... say the GF diet.. Not everyone likes to cook.

I think I should stop trying completely cuz it's giving me stress I don't really need right now. Hey, jesus suffered for being who he was.. Oh well, I think I'm going to post minimally cuz most of the replies I get oppose what I say. I'm starting to get angry with the conventional medical community for there lack of knowledge. A friend of mine's dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and I told him he should pursue the underlying causes, he chose chemo. He's dying, poor guy, and my friend agrees that he should have nuclear waste pumped into his veins. Sure, why not finish him off!!Oh well, it's the same when people preach from the bible, lots of people think you're nuts. Losec, stay strong and keep spreading the word, in the mean time I'm going to only worry about my own health right now....

So, ana, do you have anorexia? After reading all these posts, that is the disorder ("what disorder matches my symptoms..???") that comes to my mind ("ana" is often a short code word for anorexia). If that is the case, then you need to discuss these "eating issues" with a professional. The amount of food you are NOT consuming and the amount of exercise you are overdoing are catching up to you -- your body is rebelling and trying to tell you something. I would seek some face-to-face professional help and not rely solely on these anonymous boards. We are heare to give you support (and lots of confliucting suggestions  ) but I think you need more than we can offer.
Let us know how things go.
