What is this,
Hi everyone I am new here and am so glad I have found this site. I have had several episodes that are strange. It doesn't happen every time but when I stand up or bend over it feels like my brain is being squeezed and pressed down. I then get a throb in top of head and forhead and noises fluctuate (Like when you are in a car with windows down). This last for less than a minute. Afterwards I have a dull ache in head and head feels like it is being squeezed. This has happened 4 times in the last 2 weeks.
For the past year I have had pressure in head and have seen my pcp, neurologis and neuro opthlomologist. When I explained to my pcp she kept referring to them as headaches. She said she thought I was to young for migraines. I thought this odd, I'm 49 and I though migraines doesn't age discriminate. Mri basically normal with the exception of very mild white matter disease. Which shouldn't cause this. I do have high blood pressure and it has been running around 150/90. My Dr. Says this shouldn't cause headaches. I am just starting a new med. today. I have also had a spinal tap which is normal.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be. Thanks! Bonib

What did your Neurologist think you have?
What new med are you taking?
Are you taking anyother type of meds for these headaches? If so, what?

mz migraine,
Thank you for you for your response.. My neurologist doesn't know what it is. My Dr.'s are taking a sit tight approach. I get the feeling they don't think it is anything serious. As far as medicines go. My Dr. Changed my bp medicine from Topral xl to dyazide that was about 6 weeks ago. I have just started to wonder tonight if the dyazide could be causing this new symptom. As of yesterday I am on diovan hct. I have only taken 2 doses of that.
As far as otc meds I take advil, aleeve, ibuprofin(not all in one day and not more tha 3 or 4 each day) One day I will try one type and then try something els on another day. I have been trying to see if anything will help my head. I also sometimes will take tylenol p.m. as I have been having a problem with insomnia. Thanks again! bonib

bonib,
Try keeping a headache diary. This will help you & your doctors in trying to determine what is triggering your headaches, ie - weather, food, allergies, etc.
For ideas on how to keep a headache diary do a Google search. In the search field type headache diary or migraine diary. Most if not all are printable. Save you the trouble of making your own. :D
Good luck.
