What programs & funding are offered by state & county? I may be moving soon (probably to OHIO) & would like to know (also the steps involved to obtain it, the number of hours per week, cost for extra hours, etc., how much of it is at home, what program is it (Lovaas, etc.) & what states offer medicare waiver for autism(not based on income)
thank you.

Just for example:
In Colorado the program is only in it's infancy. The Autism waiver for MEDICARE will only start in 2006 and they don't even have applications for it yet.
Each county only has the funding for a handfull of Autistic children (even though there are hundreds).
HOW IS IT IN YOUR STATE OR COUNTY?

In Indiana, the only in-home services (such as speech and occupational therapy) that are state funded are through First Steps, the statewide Early Intervention program, and that goes up to age 3. After that services are available through the school system. We do not have any funding for any programs such as ABA (at least none that I've heard of.) Unfortunately, Indiana is a wasteland when it comes to funding for autism services and autism resources, compared to some other states I've heard about. There is a Social Security waiver that we can apply for, but I hear that the waiting list is at least 7 years!!
