Has anyone had any luck with Starlix?

I have been on 3-120/day for two days and my blood reading are terrible. I took it last night at bedtime and the reading was 148.

This morning it was over 188. I ate this evening at 7pm and at 10pm it was 217. Do I have to give it more time? - sam

No actually, it should be working. Let your doc know so he can up your dose, change your med, or something. Prandin & Starlix help you to produce insulin in the presence of glucose. It is taken with the meal. Some studies show prandin as a better alternative. Are you watching your refined carbs? Just by eliminating them from your diet, you can help yourself and your readings. Are you on anything else? Having that 200 at 3 hrs ppg you are in dangerous territory. Just imagine what you were at 1 or 2 hrs ppg. Are you taking your med before the meal as it should have been prescribed? I would address these high numbers now before they cause major complications.

Thanks,
I just called the doctor. I took Prandin for two years and then became allergic to it. I am down to where there is nothing left to take except insulin.
I had a .5 piece of low carb bread for breakfast and some eggbeaters. At noon my bs was 190. I have a small book and it states that 200 is acceptable 2 hours after eating. Poor is anything over 235 is poor, but to not remain like that for a long time. - sam
