Hi all,
Last night I saw my boyfriend and he had what looked like an ulcer on his lip. His father is a dentist and he said it was herpes. I looked at pics of herpes and it doesn`t look like what my boyfriend has.
Does this mean that my boyfriend has gotten it through me, through oral sex? I have not noticed any sores on or near my vagina, so I think it`s weird. Also, I kissed him last night before I had noticed it, so does that mean I will also get it? How can I be sure it`s herpes? When will I start to get the lip sore also?
Thanks

Normally, "herpes" in the oral region are what are more commonly referred to as cold sores.
He probably didn't get it from oral sex, but through kissing or sharing a drink/utensil, etc with someone who has the virus. Whether you're the carrier or he is, you probably will get the virus, but you may never have an outbreak.
