Is it safe to have sex the week after the placebo week without BCP? Do i need to start a new pack once the placebo week ends to maximise the effect of the BCP? :p

You are protected during the 7 placebo days of birth control. However, you must start your next pack on time. If you don't, you're decreasing effectiveness, and will need to use a back-up method of birth control for at least 7 days.

I'm not sure I'm reading your post correctly, but here goes... In order to maximize the effect of birth control pills, you have to actually take them as directed. This means starting a new pack as soon as you are done your placebo pills. Do not take a week off. Your placebo pills are your week off. You are protected during that week off, while you menstuate, but then you need to start a new pack before your body goes into ovulation mode.

you NEED to start a new pill pack after the placebos. Thisby is right. the placebos are your free week off. if you start a new pill pack when you are suppose to after your placebos you will still be protected. so ..dont think about having sex without start new BC after your placebos..well unless you want a baby
