So around mid February i noticed a couple flesh colored bumps around my pubic region. These soon grew to little pink warts that almost look like pimples. In May I went to get them looked at at planned parenthood. The physician's assistant there told me that it is molluscum and that it is harmless, but can spread. Now it's been 6 months and they still have'nt gone away. They have spread throughout my pubic region and especially at the base of my penis where i think they rub against eachother and spread a lot.
What's annoying is I'm afraid to enter any relationships because I don't want someone to notice them and then i'll have to explain them. Some of the bumps come and go, but as a whole there are a lot...
A lot of these things have gottenpretty big. They have white dots in the middle and look like pimples or ingrown hairs... When the PA told me in May that they are harmless and would go away in a few months I beleived him, but they have just gotten worse over the past 6 months since feb....
So what do you all think the best treatment is? Freezing? Retin A? Condylox? Aldara? well these are some i've heard mentioned in these posts. I was also considering popping them myself. I read one post where someone was able to pop them with tweezers. I'm thinking of trying this, but won't it hurt? Do you think wearing boxers will help them go away faster since they will air out more? Please any advice will be helpfull... this is really getting annoying. thanks

Although they say not to pop them I found this to be the best thing for them. As long as your are careful when pulling out the little white sac(the contigious part) that you dont rub it in to the surrounding skin you will not spread it.
I would only though pop the very large ones that are above the skin. Using a toothpick to ***** the top then using tweesers to pull out the sack. When it starts to bleed you then know that the area is now molluscum free.
I wouldnt wait like the doctor told you... it would have driven me crazy as I thought they would stay there forever..

i had them froze the other day and the results are great. first they have swollen up and turned kinda reddish. but now in the shower they start drying up and scabbing off. IT"S BEAUTIFUL! I wish you could all see. but still there is going to be some healing. they are still red and kinda bumpy. so maybe i'll have to get them frozen again, but the results from the liquid nitrogen are really impressive after under a wk!

also i would strongly recommend tretinol creme. it is really working wonders keeping new molluscum from sprouting and reducing the amount that are already there

Do not listen to your doctor if they say just to wait it out. Especially if the number of molluscum you have begin to grow in number. I had them exactly where you do. After doing research of my own, I decided to take matters into my own hands. The doctor started me off my freezing the big ones off, which worked wonderfully but more sprouted up. I simply sanitized a pair of tweezers and plucked each molluscum off in its entirety. It only stung a little bit but the result was that I had the nasty little ball of infection on my tweezer and not in my body. I did this for each one. As a warning some will bleed a little but they dry up and heal quickly. In fact, the freezing is going to cause more scarring then my self help. On top of this my doctor recomended benzoyle peroxide which is basically a type of acne medication. I used this on top of the areas and around where I plucked. Its been 3 days since my last plucking and I am still molluscum free! :):D

P.S. make sure you sterilize tweezers before each use so as to not spread the molluscum. Be very careful and clean!
