Hi everyone! Hope all is well...I wanted to share my day with you ladies because I know you all will understand.
I got my tests results back from my doctor today. I haven't had a period in 3 over months after stopping the pill, and my doctor was concerned. She wanted to test my thyriod, hormones and pregnancy. THyroid was fine, pregnancy was negative, but the hormones are an issue. She said I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Which, from reading, means my body secreates too much androgen, which conteracts with my ovaries ability to produce enough progestrone necessary for a normal cycle. There is more to it, but that is it in short. I researched it online and there is quite a bit of info on it. She started me on a pill to force me to have my period and then she will test me again to see if I ovulated, if I did great, if not we try some fertility drugs. I am happy that I know what is wrong finally, but I am upset and worried that I won't be able to have a baby. From what I read, it sounds possibel still... but there is so much to the syndrome and what it can cause and do to your body... The chances of pregnancy with the fertilty drugs sound good, but I am still concerned. It makes me sad that I know this about my body. Has anybody else dealt with this or can offer any advice?
Thanks.
Baby dust to all....

Hiya...
I also have PSO but its a mild/moderate case where I do get my period but anywhere from every 27 days to 50 days.... makes it hard to predict ovulation... After 15 months of trying, DH and I are pg.
I just wanted to let you know though that with medical advances these days, fertility treatment is incredibly effective but you just need to take charge of the process, be proactive and have a plan. I hope that your journey into parenthood is successful and by the sounds of your optimistic attitude, I think you'll do well.... :D
Good luck

Hi Nicole. I am sorry to here about your problem. I too just got off the pill after 11 years, so I don't know yet if I will be regular/irregular! (I'm 29). I was wondering about your situation. Was you AF and ovulation regular before you were on bc? How long were you on it?

Hi.Thanks Sherbet for your advice, congratulations on your wonderful news!!!!Your story makes me feel better. :)
And thank Myloathe for your kind words as well. To answer your questions, i was on the pill for close to 8 years. I am 24 now. When i very 1st strtd my AF, I had it regulalry as far as I remember. But I got on the pill shortly after and never really went off of it until 3 months ago, so I don't really know if i was ovulating. I always had AF while on the pill, but I don't think, nor have i heard or read that the pill causes this though, from what I read, they don't really know what does. It's something in with my hormones.
I will keep you all posted.
Thank you again for your advice and encouragement!!!! Baby dust to all

Thanks for the reply Bronicagirl. Since you mentioned you have severe PCOS,can you expain further? I am assuming there are different serverites of it from what I have read. I am trying to get as much as info as I can about this. My doctor has put me on a progestrone pill for 10 days. How long have you been dealing with PCOS? I would appreciate any advice and help you can offer.
Thanks!
