View Full Version : Waiting lists

Hello all..I have a friend who's had several melanomic tumors from her skin, they were all benign but it doesn't just end there. She's also a high risk for ovarian Cancer too. Her oncologist wanted to do some preventive surgery by removing her ovaries totally but she opted to have the chance to have children someday..
Her Oncologist refused to treat her anymore after that, and she's left to find a new one. However, they seem to all have ridiculously long waiting lists, and she really needs to be monitored to prevent or treat any new outbreaks..
What I'm wondering is if anybody knows any way you can bypass these lists if your not on a Red Alert type status in regards to your cancer's advancement?
I know it's only fair that the worst cases will be treated first, but frankly how much time does it take to do a few tests to make sure there's no new outbreaks for her? Surely a Doctor could clear a few minutes for that?
Anyway, if anybody out there knows of any organizations or resources that can help with this. please let me know..
