Question was on depo for almost 12 years well engaged now and we would like to start trying after march so was told to get off the depo cause it could be upto a year of even longer before I would get my periods back. well it has been amonth to the day that I have been on the pill and guess who visitted this morning so does that mean that I could possibly have a easier chace of pregnancy then? I feel like a teenagger with her first period I dont remember all those things anymore. 12 years is along time to rememenr that stuff...

Hi,

I'm not sure if that's your true period or was from the pill. 12 years is a long time and i have read many stories of women being on depo for a long time and it taking them forever to get pregant. I would give it a couple months to see if you get your period reguarly on time. I was on depo for 1 year and 4 months and about 2 weeks before i was do for another shot i started spotting and then a full blown period. It was like every week i was getting my period till a few months ago and now they are getting further apart. I have the Pargard IUD now so, i know that my body is nauturally ovaulting. Good luck and let us know how things go for you.

I agree with the above.........your periods may be a result of being on the pill. It took 5 years before I got my first "real" period. The only time I had a period during those 5 years is during the months that I was on fertility meds. I was on them for 4 months, got pregnant, then went another 2 years after the birth of my son before I got my first real period.

How would you know if it is a real period?

Hi,

I knew mine were real cause i haven't taken any other BC since the depo has ended. The Pargard has no hormones in it. And that i have been getting my periods reguarly.I think it might be a good idea to see a Endo in a few months to see where your hormone leve are at. Hope this info helps.
