View Full Version : Stupid question and short story

Okay I have looked online and haven't found out a specific answer. What the heck is Drop Foot? Is it literally your one foot dragging on the ground whlie you walk? or Can it just be causing you to trip over your own foot, like it gets kinda stuck when your walking?

Is anyone else afraid that people will start thinking your on something with your "brain farts" as I like to call them?

Besides my normal stopping in the middle of sentences not being able to think of words or switching around of words I have been having more trouble lately. I was in Dunkin Donuts yesterday. I was at the counter and ordered my coffee, so while she was making my coffee, in my head I am thinking "okay Sandy you can say it, Corn Muffin, Corn Muffin, Corn Muffin." So the woman comes over with my coffee and says "will there be anything else" and I say "yes can I have a Corn mmmmmaaahhh" UGH!!! So as my face turned red and the woman looked at me like I was a crazy person or drugee, I quickly corrected myself and got out of there as quick as possible. What the heck is a girl to do? I haven't been officially diagnosed with MS yet so its not like I can get it tattood on my head or have t shirts made up yet so people can know what the heck is going on and that Im not a nut or on anything. I guess for now I'll just have to not give a flyin fig about what people think.

OKAY thanks in advance for your replies

Not a stupid question Sandy, I wonder the same thing, what is a drop foot?

I find myself hearing "swish" once awhile, can't figure out if it's MS or I just moved my foot wrong.

Foot drop is when you walk and your foot doesn't lift properly ( 90 degrees to your ankle). In my case my foot doesn't have the strength to lift properly and my toe ends up catching on the ground. This is how I manage to trip over those HUGE bumps in linoleum. There is frequently a "slapping" sound as that foot hits ground while I walk.

ok so its not just tripping on "invisable carpet snakes" as I call them? Your foot doesn't ever move correctly?
