Thank-you Actos did not but took too long to work. :confused: almonkey 08-28-2005, 07:38 PM Actos & Avandia are TZDs and used widely to treat Type 2 diabetes. They both take 12 weeks to reach their full effectiveness. They are many time used as a second line therapy. Meaning glucophage (metformin) 1st then a TZD. Metformin is known for gastric side effects. Other types of drugs that block the absorbtion of carbs also are known for the same. Any drug you ingest could cause a gastric side effect. Did your doc say stop taking it? If not, stick w/ the Actos. Your blood sugars will come down. In the meantime just try to stay away from refined carbs.
