I read somewhere that you can't conceive if you use lube, as the sperm can't swim through it? Is this true? You must be able to, otherwise people would use that as a contraceptive instead of other things. So what would you say the percentage was of getting pregnant using lube?

The only sperm friendly lube is pre-seed. The rest and saliva can kill of the sperm. Not to say they kill them all off so can be used as a contraceptive (or as you say people would use those instead), but when ttc they can seriously affect chances.

It's technically possible to conceive despite using lubricant, but it's a lot harder since it impedes sperm mobility and upsets the Ph in the vagina, so that it's harder for sperm to live long enough to make it to their destination. Even saliva isn't good to use. If you're trying to get pregnant, don't use lubricant.

I used it because I was bf'ing and it was the only way sex was happening. I was also 41 at the time and was told I might never have a baby with my own eggs. I guess DD was meant to be! We did everything "wong" that time but it worked much to our shock and joy!
