the past two days i've felt like i have heartburn 24/7. i don't think i actually have reflux non-stop; i think it has caused damage which is making it continue to hurt. this worries me. anyone else experienced constant pain like this?

I've had constant pain for 3 months now. Don't know where yours is - mine is straight down the center of my chest, sometimes radiating to my right lung. Sometimes its a burning sensation, sometimes just like something is caught half way down my chest and won't move. Went to ER twice and they find nothing (of course they seem to be only interested in checking for heart problems), even kept me once for 2 days. I've been poked, punched, and probbed. Had a nulcear stress test and 24 hour monitor. I keep telling them I don't think it's the heart, but they want to rule that out - which is good since I'm a 60 y/o female and I do feel a comfort in now knowing the heart is good. Yet I still have the pain. The hospital put me on Protonix for GERD, haven't seen where it's done much good. Doctor tried Nexium, it didn't help either. Good luck to you, hope you find relief, I haven't.

Yep, I've had constant pain for over a year. I'm on Nexium 2x a day with little or no relief. Maybe it takes awhile. i don't know. I was pain free for a about 4 months and it's back with a vengence. Just started the Nexium 3 days ago so we'll see.

The past 5 days, I've had a constant feeling of heartburn and, like you, I don't think it's a constant reflux going on. I'm on Prilosec OTC and it has worked for me in the past so I don't understand why all of a sudden it isn't. I'm testing out different foods to see if that may be my problem. Are you drinking coffee?....eating ice cream?....fried foods? Are you watching what you eat?
