Mid-July I had an IUD inserted & since than I have been experiencing mild to severe joint & muscle pain. Has anyone else who has a Mirena IUD experienced anything similar? if you have can you explain your symptoms and when they went away. thanks

I'm going to have a copper IUD put in next cycle, my best friend just told me she had one for six years and loved it. But someone elese mentioned what about your body rejecting it? Your body would start attacking itself like you have arthritis, then it occured to me that my best friend is only 33 and is in pain every day from RA-arthritis, however she says hers is heredity and her grandmother died from it. don't know if there is a correlation there or not but something to think about.

Thanks for the reply. I have already been test for RU arthritis and the DR's say that isnt' it. My OB said that if I was rejecting it I would probably have an infection or some other GYN problems. Thanks :)
