Hi,
Well, I went for therapy today and she did (among other things) 2 tests. I think they were called "tertelli and berg". They are a series of physical tests and you get scored. Your total score indicates to your doctor and your insurance company how much help you might need.., ie.., assisstance with walking, such as maybe a scooter or wheelchair (which mine indicated I might need), and the need for further therapy type help. I scored very low. She gave me some exercises to do at home with hopes to improve my ankle strength, but wasn't too enthusiastic about them as she said I'm VERY weak in my legs/ankles movements and confirmed that I should not be without my cane, but probably should be using a sitting assisted device to move around large areas. I'm going to Vegas next week and will, of course, be using a wheelchair there, but am glad these tests showed what they did , because now I can probably get my insurance to cover the cost of a scooter type chair. Hope this info helps you decide if you were on the fence about going for therapy! Good luck!
