I'm a 29 year old female and I have been posting here for the last couple of weeks, but not concerning my lungs. I hadn't really considered a lung problem until yesterday after talking to my cardiologist. I have been having shortness of breath and chest pressure for about 2 1/2 months now and have been through all the heart tests, which have shown nornal. I also have been having palpitations (which could be anxiety related from the worry of all this) and some discomfort in my neck. I have seen 2 cardiologists and both have come to the conclusion that it's not heart related. They made me an appointment with a pulmonary specialist to have tests ran. I have already also had CT scans of my chest and pelvis, chest x-rays, and an upper gi. The shortness of breath gets worse with exercise. I've also started having dizzy spells. I'm a classic case of heart problems, but they say no. Now, they want to check the lungs. Has anyone else had this problem and it have anything to do with their lungs?

Kelly--

I think if I were you I would have my thyroid levels checked. All of those symptoms could be from an underactive thyroid. A lot of Dr's miss it as they look only at the "classic" textbook symptoms. I've had those same symptoms, as have others on the thyroid board.
good luck...

They did some blood work and said that there were no thyroid problems showing, but I don't know that much about it. Would it show in the blood work?

Kelly,

I'd also suggest that you get a doctorto do a 6 minute walk test - with an oxymeter on your finger to monitorthe levels of O2 in your blood, this will let you know if it's an oxygen problem and help with determining who to see...
