im not on yasmin, but im wondering something about the drospirinone in it. i read that it can increase potassium levels in your body. and it is also a diuretic.

now, my question is this: if you have blood pressure that is borderline high, but not high enough to be controlled with medication, but controlled only by diet and exercise, would this pill be ideal? ive been told that water pills (i.e., diuretics) can be used for hypertension... Ive also read that foods high in potassium are ideal for people with high blood pressure (like, orange juice).

so has anyone on yasmin notice that their blood pressure was lowered? or has anyone else thought about this with yasmin?

Hi, I am on yasmin and like it. The first week or 2 I was a little moody. I have been on it now for 3 months and like it. My blood pressure was usually normal and now that you mention it, it is a little bit lower. Not drastically lower, but lower. I work and a drug store where they have a blood pressure machine and check it often. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. I'll bring it up to her.

my blood pressure was always borderline low. i had my blood pressure check last saturday when i was giving blood and it was 91/60. still a little low but in the normal range. talk to your doctor about it.

btw - i love yasmin.
