Hello,

I am posting out of curiosity. My wife's cousin is 15 yrs old. His girlfriend who is also 15 was diagnosed with some type of leukemia. His father called today and said that her parents have informed them that the only cure for her is to get pregnant. Of course this has raised alot of questions on our behalf.

Has anyone heard of this being a possible cure?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only cure I've heard of it chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a whole aray of drugs. I have heard with some womb disease/conditions(something around that area anyway) that conceiving can cure or delay the illness.

Personally I doubt cancer can be cured by being pregnant. But I dont know much about cancer. Hopefully someone else can be more help to you. :)

I believe that he means getting pregnant and having a baby that might have the same bone marrow match as her, could save her life. There have been several cases that have showed families having newborns to save the lives of siblings stricken w/ blood cancers, mainly because they have the same marrow. Hope this clears things up and good luck.
