I haven't had sex for almost 5 months now, but about a month or two ago, I noticed on the outside rim of my labia a redness, almost rash looking. It doesn't hurt, but around my mestruation time it starts to itch really bad so I've been using vagisil to help stop the itch. I've looked up information on herpes, but from all the pictures I've found I don't have what they look like, but some of the symptoms (redness, itchy, etc.) I do have. So the only thing I can think of is maybe I have herpes, or could I be alergict to the mini pads I wear daily and have never had a problem with until about 2 months ago?

This doesn't sound like herpes to me, although it can vary in the way it appears on each individual.
I would go to the doctor to always rule anything out, but it is more likely to be a yeast infection, or it can be due to the heat & your clothing, or possibly the mini pad you are using... our bodies can become sensative to things that they were not before, we are constantly changing... I don't know if you use the mini pads with deodorant, but if you do, use the ones without, it is always best.
Go to the doctor, whatever it is, they are best to prescribe relief from whatever it might be.
