I have been reading some posts about how Metamucil helps with gas and loud, noisey stomach sounds. How exactly does it help make gas better? I thought that fiber made gas worse. I'm really thinking about trying some to see if it helps my stomach problem, but I don't suffer from diarrhea or constipation. I suffer only from embarrassing stomach gas and loud noisey rumbling sounds.

I can't see where it would help. It does cause gas but there are others out there that say they cause no gas so you might try some fiber like that. If the gas is too intense try something like Maalox Max, Gas-X or Phazyme, something with Simethicone in it.
