View Full Version : No Sugar?

I have decided to cut sugar from my diet except natural sugars like in fruit and other things. I was recently told by my doctor that it shuts down your liver, same with artificially dyed foods such as jello and so forth.

Has anyone else heard about this?

Thanks,
Jessica

no i haven't heard that! when you are looking through labels, look forf these things... and avoid the product!:

high fructose corn syrup
fructose (still really sugar... just not as bad)
sugar
evaporated cane juice
cane juice
sorbitol
mannitol
aspartame
splenda

the list goes on! stay away from these... they all have similar effects on the body, in terms of sugar (except the aspartame, splenda mannitol and other calorie free artificial sweeteners, but they have some same effects and are really bad for you!!!)

some you CAN have;
brown rice syrup
fructose (OCCASIONALLY)
honey
stevia

Jessica,

The world has been eating refined sugar and artificial dyes for a veeery long time, and we don't have the entire population of the western world landing in the hospital with shut down livers. I will grant that refined sugars and artificial sweeteners are not GOOD for you, but they are not liver poisons either. Your liver will not shut down just because you consume these ingredients.

Fruit is much better for you because of the extra vitamins and minerals and anti-oxidents and fiber and so forth, none of which are in refined sugar.

You may have health problems later in life because of the good nutrients you DIDN'T consume while you were filling your diet with all this artificial stuff, but you ain't gonna die from liver problems from sugar and dyes.

My two cents,

Jessica,

I had sugar yesterday and my liver survived.:D If your "doctor" said that, he's not a real doctor...or shouldn't be.
