About 6 weeks ago I woke up with 6 pimples looking things on my forehead. I went to a primary care doctor and he told me that they were bug bites. It turned out to be Herpes and wasn’t treated until 2 weeks after my initial doctor visit when I went to a dermatologist. Long story short, I took Valtrex and it cleared up my Herpes.
I was left with 8 red spots on my head. It is called hyperpigmentation. My dermatologist has prescribed aclaro (hydroquinone) to take away the red pigment from my skin.
My questions are:
Has anyone ever had a similar situation with herpes?
How long did it take the hydroquinone to clear up the hyperpigmentation?
Any side effects to the hydroquinone?
Any help would be appreciated! My mental state isn’t the best considering I have big red spots on my forehead!
Thanks

after i contracted genital herpes, i started getting bad acne. i never had that bad of acne before and the "zits" were bigger and really painful. i was worried that i transferred the herpes to my face by accidentally touching it, but i didn't think it was possible to get facial herpes. i didn't take any medicine and i don't think i really have any noticeable scars from them and i always just popped them all, but i guess i have what you have =/

Yes, Mine started on my forhead about 3 years ago, I was told they were shingles...never looked like shingles. I haven't been given anything for them other than Famvir and they still crop up every now and then. My major outbreaks are in my mouth. Be careful to wash your hands a lot if you have any more outbreaks.

What do you use if you feel an outbreak is coming on?
