Hi everyone,

My skin feels tight and dry most of the time now, like it is being stretched and pulled! Also, with the stiffness I mentioned in an earlier post, I've noticed that it gets progressively worse each day by around 2pm and on into the evening. I walk after work at 4:30, and I simply have to "walk through the pain and stiffness" in my legs. I've never had this before, so it must be peri or Fibromyalgia or something else, which just causes me more health anxiety. ASLO, my balance seems to be off more in the evenings than during the day. When I get up from the couch to go get a snack, it seems like I "weave" when I walk! I know this all sounds so "out there" but I know some of you must understand. Write me back and let me know if you have any of these strange things happening. I think we all just have to take this time of life ONE DAY AT AT TIME!!

Hi,

It does sound very much like peri, as we go through so many strange things at this time. Are you by any chance taking Flaxseed Oil? This wonderful supplement is good for your skin and also good for inflamation in your joints and arthritic conditions also. I started taking it last year for my dry eye stymptoms but found that it helps me skin a lot too. I have read that it does help alot with that during peri - and afterwards too of course. I have felt like I was going to lose my balance alot of times too, especially after getting up like that.

Hope this helps a bit!

It almost sounds like you are retaining water and by the evening, your skin is actually tighter.
When I first started getting my periods (I think I was 11 or 12), I would always get really dizzy. In my 30's, I finally went to an ENT who said that this is usually caused by water retention. Even the ear canal can swell and retain some water, which causes the dizziness specifically around my periods.
Of course, all this is hormonally related so the bottom line is, it probably is peri.

Hope you feel better soon and GOOD FOR YOU for walking through the discomfort!
