I started taking ortho lo two months ago (this is my second period on the pill). I started the "inactive" pills this past Sunday. Early last week I had wierd brownish pink discharge accompanied by cramping, which lasted about 4 to 5 days. Then there were two days with nothing. I then experienced almost rythemic, painful, dull stabbing sensations that lasted about two minutes each time, and happened about every ten minutes or so for about two hours. I figured I started my period after the first cramp and started using a pad. I left work early from the pain, and when I got home I found a glob of tissue (body tissue) stuck to me that was about two inches long, two inches wide that was really thick and rubbery with a dark purplish/reddish spot at one end that was kind of hard (it was inside of the "sac" (best way I can describe it)). It was mostly grayish pink and had a few darker grayish brown spots on the edges. I also gushed blood for about an hour, and ever since, other than continuous lower back pain, everything has been normal, the bleeding is tapering off, etc. I've also passed lots of small feathery looking clots. Is this normal? I plan on seeing my doctor this week. I am worried that maybe I had gotten pregnant and miscarried without ever knowing I was pregnant. I just don't know what to think. I've looked into endo, miscarriage, etc; the closest thing I could find was a miscarriage, but I mean... it just doesn't seem possible since I took my pill everyday at the same time. Is this just a wierd side effect the "side effects" don't list?
