I've been doing something similar to the atkins' diet for about 4 months now, and just recently went shopping at a new healthfood place here in town to see what they offer for me. I came across this food bar called "CarboLite." I've eaten a lot of those Atkins "Advantage" bars, which have 2-3 net carbs in them each. But these carbolite bars are a bit different. They attribute 24 grams of their carbohydrates to an ingredient called "Maltitol." On the package they claim that it can be written off as a carbohydrate that doesn't affect the body as sugar does, so they claim the net carbohydrates of the bar as 2 grams. If anyone knows anything about this sweetener, please let me know if it is anything that I shouldn't be consuming.
Thanks a lot!
