Can you share you experiences with either one of these? Some say Lexapro is great, others say Effexor.

Have you gained weight from with one of these. One freind told me she has not gained a pound on Effexor after one year of taking it. Another said Lexapro is the better.

So please share you personal experiences . Thanks

Since I don't do well with SSRI antidepressant I won't share my experience with Lexapro, but can tell you what I know from family members and a friend.

My sister was taking Lexapro and Wellbutrin and doing well, then her doctor switched her to Effexor. According to the doctor Effexor does what Lexapro and Wellbutrin does.

A co-worker has been taking Effexor for years and call it her happy pill. She has slowly gained weight, but it might be age related and it did elevate her blood pressure.

I have family members who took Lexapro and it did wonders for them (better mood, lost weight, made them sleepy).

I wish you the best in finding the right antid.
